Prison Ministry

 

The call to prison ministry comes firectly from Yeshua. We find Him speaking in Matthew 25:36 "...I was in prison and you came to visit me." Matthew 25:38-40 "When did we visit you in prison?" and He answered them: "I assure you, as often as you did it for one of these my brethre, you did it for Me!"

 

Prison Ministry is one way we can actually receive credit for doing something for our LORD!

 

The LORD opened this Messianic Ministry opportunity by allowing us to continue the ministry at the Polunsky Prison, which had been started by Bro. Tom Sweeney.

 

Over the course of the last 3 years we have seen 15 men receive Yeshua and be baptized. We have been very blessed to see this Messianic Fellowship grow from 8 men to 30. Last week we ministered to over 5o men!

 

The prison officials and Chaplain have been very co0operative and supportive. Though Satan has opposed, Yahweh has blessed. We have been allowed to hold a Passover Seder for the men the past two years.

 

I believe some of these men will leave prison and will become Bible Teachers, Evangelists and Missionaries for Yeshua Messiah!

 

We must remember and recognize many men in Scripture who were greatly used of Yahweh, had themselves spent time in prison. Think of Joseph and even Moses was on Pharoah's most wanted list! Many of Yeshua's Disciples were well acquainted with the inside of a jail house. Paul was involved with the FIRST prison revival in history but there have been many since.

 

Prison rules within Polunsky Unit do not allow us to go into the cell blocks and preach. That evangelistic work is being done by the Messianic Inmates taking the Word to their fellow prisoners.The Ruach HaKodesh "Holy Spirit" is bringing many prisoners to salvation through this Messianic dynamic. The men love to study the Word of Yahweh. Pray for this work, that Yeshua will bless our efforts and those of the other men - mightly!
